X12 is an EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) standard that provides a uniform way for businesses to exchange electronic documents and business transactions. The DISA (Data Interchange Standards Association) was chartered by ANSI (American National Standards Institute) to provide the X12 committee with administrative support. DISA is a not-for-profit organization that supports the development and use of electronic data interchange standards in electronic commerce.
