OpenVMS is a DEC (now Compaq) multiuser operating system that supports Digital's VAX and Alpha series computers. It is an open software environment that supports open standards such as OSF/Motif, POSIX, XPG3, and the OSF DCE (Distributed Computing Environment). It also includes networking support, distributed computing support, and multiprocessing.
