A fractional T1 line is a subchannel of a full T1 line. There are 24 fractional T1 lines in a full T1 line and each has a bandwidth of 64 Kbits/sec, which is just enough bandwidth to handle one digitized voice call. There are 28 T1 channels in a T3 line. Users can purchase one or more fractional lines without the need to purchase the full line and can add additional fractional lines at any time.
